11/11/17 – Laddy is very sweet, but just a bit too clingy to be chosen for prison program. He didn’t run any races! Laddy is one of 3 littermates we received on the Home For The Holidays Haul known as “David Bowie” litter – born the day Bowie died. His racing owner has many photos to send to his adopter’s from the Melissa Schmidt Iowa puppy farm! He did not seem phased by the Indiana storms the other night. The foster folks report, “We have had an amazing 24 plus hours with Laddy. He would have been capable of going home with an adopter on the day he arrived!” Laddy is not afraid of slick floors. He’s incredibly cat friendly. Laddy is learning how to walk on a leash. He had a long walk on the Monon and loved all of the people.
He must know where both of the fosters are at all times. Laddy started “alone training” today, as explained in the Greyhound Dummies book, and on our website under After Adoption Resources. Laddy, cries a little when put in his crate just like most greyhounds do while transitioning into a new home. Last night he woke up at 3am and whined, just like most new greyhounds do. Laddy is an amazing dog. Although it is still too soon to know, Laddy may need another dog or a person home most of the day. Laddy understands “no” and also eats really well. Would love to velcro 24/7. This youngster plays with toys, and just kinda loves life.
