Hero “Katniss” – Female greyhound lurcher, born 5/31/2013, White with tic/brindle spots. Age 11. Weight 44 pounds. Very affectionate! She loves all the attention she can get. She loves other dogs as well. She currently has female and male hound friends. She loves to lounge around but also still loves to do a victory lap or gets the zoomies. When Katniss is supposed to come inside, or when she is asking for a little extra attention, her favorite game is when you bend down and holler “KATNISS”!! She will sprint from a distance and jump into your arms. She absolutely loves being outside and especially sunbathing! She also knows how to heel (even though she doesn’t realize she’s doing it). Littermate to Hero Rue. (The littermates Katniss and Rue were part of a litter named for the  Hunger Games. The Hero Hound adoption fee is $200, but you must get pre-approved. Hero Hounds are not cat tested, they have never been around cats. But our experience shows they are all cat tolerable with no prey drive. Like all of our retired donors from The Veterinarians’ Blood Bank, she is fully vetted and the adoption fee covers microchipping.)
